Street Kidz Academy Sept 2012

Street Kidz Dance Academy is set up to give all you budding dancers the best possible chance in the industry.Street Kidz Dance Academy is coming and is now fully under way to All age groups from 6yrs and above for our classes in the week. Plus ages between 5-9yrs, 10-14yrs and 15-20yrs for our academy in september 2012Street Kidz dance classes will be coming to colchester, sible hedingham and braintree in January 2012 with fantastic venues plus street kidz dance academy at Colchester essex from september 2012.The 3 Studios for our academy in september 2012 are perfect for our dance classes and we will be using all three mirrored dance studios for our broadway, street/Hiphop and Disco freestyle classes at the dance Academy soon to be announced. Street Kidz are looking for kidz who have passion for dance who want to perform and star in our annual shows. Plus have the knowledge of our teachers and possibility of making it to the westend or the lastest music video with the help of our experienced dance teachers. Academy Sept 2012Street Kidz passion is for dance and to ensure all children and young adults get the best tuition and personal tuition if desired.Opon signing up you will also recieve our T-shirt the following week and members card to ensure you have the fully fledged membership for that term.Street Kidz is open to only 20 children per age group to Ensure you get the best possible tuition. If you are looking to further your ideas, further your future in dance or need advice our teachers are here to help you and make you as successful as you can just like Street kidz Dance teachers.Street Kidz desire is to keep positive in your desire to make it as only you can do this but with support and guidance from teachers and street kidz we have no doudt you can.

GALLERY HIP HOPHip-hop dance refers to dance styles primarily danced to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. This includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s by African Americans.What separates hip-hop dance from other forms of dance is that it is often freestyle (improvisational) in nature and hip-hop dancers frequently engage in battlesformal or informal freestyle dance competitions. Informal freestyle sessions and battles are usually performed in a cipher, "a circular dance space that forms naturally once the dancing begins. These three elementsfreestyling, battles, and ciphersare key components of hip-hop dance.To some, hip-hop dance may only be a form of entertainment or a hobby. To others it has become a lifestyle: a way to be active in physical fitness or competitive dance and a way to make a living by dancing professionally.
Street DanceStreet Dance Is a style thats so fashionable today. You have acts like diversity, flawless and many more to name that make street dance powerful and as popular today than it was 10 years ago. Street dance is a style which is unique and anyone can do it but not everyone can be a professional and dance like the top choreagraphers. Our passion for street is intense and to be a street dancer alot of concentration and passion is needed to become a strong street dancer and make you stick out from the rest.Nowadays the terms "streetdance" and "Hip Hop dance" are often used to refer to a studio-based version of the forms which came about after established teachers and choreographers of Jazz, Ballet and Contemporary tried to copy the "street" styles when they were popularised. Since this style did not evolve naturally in a social space, it does not have defined steps, which means that anything can be included within it and be put under the umbrella of "street dancing". You may have seen this style in music videos (especially commercial Hip Hop) or performed by backing dancers at music shows. The main difference to understand is that this type of "Streetdance" was invented in studios to be taught in classes and to be performed on stages and videos. In contrast, the original street dances were not invented but evolved, and evolved on the streets, clubs and parks rather than the studio or the stage.
Broadway Modern jazzThe performance style of jazz dance was popularized to a large extent by Bob Fosse's work, which is exemplified by Broadway shows such as Chicago, Cabaret, Damn Yankees, and The Pajama Game. Modern jazz dance continues to be an important element of musical theatre, and it can often be seen in music videos and competitive danceModern jazz dance Jazz dancers often wear leather jazz shoes, to help them move smoothly when executing turns (e.g. pirouette).[citation needed] Prior to dancing, dancers typically perform exercises in order to warm up and stretch muscles so as to prevent injuries. In addition, core strengthening exercises are often used for conditioning. TechniqueIn a toe rise, the dancer rises from a kneeling position while supporting the body on the tops of the toes. An acro dancer performs a straddle split leap, one of several leaps also found in jazz dance. Modern jazz dance is frequently influenced by other dance styles such as acro, ballet, contemporary, lyrical, and hip-hop. In turn, many other dance styles are influenced by jazz dance. As in most forms of dance, technique is the foundation for all modern jazz dance movement. In particular, jazz dancers benefit from a sound working knowledge of ballet technique and, consequently, hip hop dance curriculum commonly includes ballet training.

I am Ang and Teacher of Street kidz dance academy.I have a picture on the way but in the mean time while you are waiting fot iy heres a bit about me.I am a trained Dancer and trained at Lewisham dance college. Irecieved an a level in dance and a b tech extended diploma in dance. I have been free styling in clubs around the world including ibiza, italy and greece. I have performed in music videos and danced along side many stars including Martin Mccutcheon from eastenders and been in many shows to date. I am now teaching fitness classes and Danc e classes and now joined street kidz ready for january so come along and have fun.xxx

ABOUT Christie

Ive been dancing almost my whole life, however ive been on and off. When i wasyounger I was part of a dance school called Marie Lodge, School of Dance, which was in Sudbury, there i learnt Tap, Modern and Ballet. I was involved in many shows and loved every moment of it. I then left when i started school. After a small break of dancing i then found Pendrill School of Dance.I participated in a dance lesson once a week at a school hall in Halstead. I was part of many shows and contributed to alot of competitions. The biggest competition i entered was in Guilford. I have recieved many trophies over the years of this dance school all ranging from 5th to 1st position. At this Dance School i also entered examsand got as far as my Gold exam. After alot of experience in taking part of my lessons i then went on to assisting my dance teacher, helping her with children my age and younger.After quitting Pendrill School of Dance and after a bit of a break , i then went to Iyaz School of Dance which was based in Colchester. I wasnt at this school for long but i was involved in two shows while i was there and got alot of experience out of it.When i took my options for GSCE i took Dance as one of them. Throughout myDance lessons i had to focus on cheorography alot. I also participated in alot of shows throught the year. Overall i recieved a B in this subject as a GCSE.After school i then went on to do Performing Arts specialising in Dance. This was a two year course and throughout these two years i studied Contemporary, Tap, Ballet, Urban, Jazz, Performance Workshop, Physical Theatre and Musical Theatre.After taking part in many exams and shows i came out with the result of a triple grade Merit, Merit, Merit.Finally, im looking forward to starting my own Dance Class to enable me to put allmy experience into practice!
